About the Illinois Religious Coalition for the Freedom to Marry

The Illinois Religious Coalition for the Freedom to Marry is a statewide interfaith effort to promote passage of laws promoting the rights of same-sex couples with an ultimate goal of attaining full marriage rights.

The coalition was started in 2003 under the leadership of clergy and lay members of the Second Unitarian Church of Chicago, where it remains housed, but is a statewide interfaith movement.
