Conservative or Liberal may or not be extremes. I’m for this and against that. If an opponent and a supporter of any issue face off in a closed room, alone with their thoughts, they can problably walk away understanding but not necessarily agreeing with one another. Even those who support as well as those who oppose an issue often times don’t consider themselves as simply reactionary without actually understanding the issue. There isn’t a family anywhere that is not openly supporting, secretly hiding, affected by, or close friends with a Gay male or female.
The issue becomes one of being supportive and loving toward those who oppose your views. No one has a right to be smug and resentful. The opposition isn’t evil; just lacking the motivation to change a point of view.
